The boys and I went to Bob White Acres this morning to go blueberry picking. While Eric and I picked Evan enjoyed eating them and yelling "blue balls" at the top of his lungs.

Eric is a baker...every chance he gets to help in the kitchen he's there. He made this cake almost all by himself.
Here is the recipe http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Blueberry-Cream-Cheese-Pound-Cake-I/Detail.aspx?prop31=2 and I have to say it turned out great. I used butter instead of oil, floured 2 cups of blueberries so they wouldn't sink and made a vanilla glaze for the top. This recipe is a keeper.

Happy Fathers Day Joe I love the fact that Joe has a job...that I am able to stay home to raise the boys...but sometimes it makes me sad that he has to work on Sundays and special holidays (like Fathers Day) are always cut short because of work.

It has rained 12 out of the last 13 days. So when Eric asked to go out and play in it this morning I couldn't say no. Evan couldn't figure out how to hold the umbrella over his head but he has a great time getting wet.

Swimming

Eric started swim lessons in April and had his last class yesterday. It has been a really bumpy road so far. He is signed up for 4 more weeks of lessons throughout the summer and hopefully by the end he will feel comfortable in the water.

This is what his teacher wrote about him " THE ONLY ONE HOLDING ERIC BACK IS ERIC. I KNOW THAT HE CAN DO IT. HE JUST NEEDS TO FEEL MORE SECURE TO KNOW HE CN. W/ WORK ON HIS PART & H2O TIME HE WILL DISCOVER HIS STRENGTHS. KEEP ERIC IN THE POOL....HE WILL SURPRISE US ALL FOR SURE!"

Healthy Kids Day

Eric and I went to Healthy Kids day at our local YMCA. It was a great day for both of us. The kids did a half hour Yoga class, had a healthy snack and walked a mile. I am very proud of how well Eric listened and followed directions....and he loved loved the Yoga class.

Saturday November 22, 2008 Evan got his first offical haircut. I had my hairdresser cut his bangs a couple of weeks ago but not anything else. He sat on Joe's lap and was good at first but then decided that he didn't really like it. I've been a member of the MOMS CLUB for alittle over 3 years now. I have to admit that I have not been a great host lately...but in October I started doing crafts with the children. I needed an activity that ranged in age from 2-6 years of age. On Wednesday I had 7 children plus some babies in the house to make these turkeys...aren't they cute. Eric's is the 4th one from the left with the blue eyes. Here are the Jack-o-laterns that we made in October.

We celebrated Eric's 4th and Evan's 1st birthday yesterday with alot of family and friends. I made their cakes this year with Wilton's Giant Cupcake Cake. http://www.wilton.com/store/site/product.cfm?id=4018F320-423B-522D-F5ECDA6F3A2ABB5E&killnav=1 It was fun to make and turned out cute for my firs time making them. Eric wanted a chocolate cake with blue icing and I made Evan's vanilla.

Eric was a very happy Buzz Lightyear. Evan was Charlie Brown and Daddy was....just plan old scary. We had a great time. I took the boys out while Joe scared not only the children but some neighbors too. Eric loved trick or treating but after alittle bit he told me he was done and wanted to go home and help daddy give out candy.

He was a natural...he stood at the table outside yelling to people..."I have candy. Come and get my candy." I was so proud of him.

School project

On Thursday when I picked up Eric he was very proudly carrying a Blue suitcase (Blue because he is in the Blue room at school)

Inside the suitcase was CLIFFORD! He was to record what he did with Clifford for the weekend and bring him back to school on Tuesday.

Eric had so much fun with him....he even dressed him in PHILLIES gear (Thanks Aunt Ellynn and Timothy). Here are some pictures from our weekend.

along with some help from adults...put in barking sound boxes, made wishes

I finally made Eric an appointment to get him tested for allergies. I nee dedto know if I had a sick child or if he had allergies. We went and he did great. They made a mess of his back pricking him with lots of stuff. Within seconds I knew that I wasn't crazy as hives started apprearing like crazy. So here is what he is allergic too.

And the ragweed hive was the worst his hive grew to be th size of a half dollar.

He needs to go back in 2 months for more testing to see if the medicine is working and than every year after that.

And....on a positive note...he is NOT allergic to our cats!!

My best friend Jennifer is getting married and I am currently planning her bridal shower....but I have to say it's so wierd talking to her on the phone and not being able to tell her things. Man it sucks...but I am so happy for her.

Eric loves dogs and the other day he wanted to buy dog biscuits to give to dogs in our neighborhood. The one's that he picked out were special for Halloween but for the most part they looked like graham crackers. Fast forward to last night. I see Joe with a bag of cookies and he's crunching on something...I scream laughing THOSE ARE DOG BISCUITS...he goes and spits them out in the sink. I couldn't stop laughing and I am still laughing thinking about what his face looked like.

First Day of Preschool

Today Tuesday September 9, 2008 was Eric's 1st day of preschool. He was so excited to wear his backpack and leave. It was only an hour today with parents. They had circle time, read a book, had a tour of the room and bathroom, learned some rules, played and had snack before going home. He later told me that his favorite part was reading the book about Corduroy going to school. He goes again on Thursday without me...so I will give another update than.
I am proud to say that he did great....and that I didn't cry.

I remember when Mom used to give me .6 cents wrapped in tin foil to buy a little carton of milk at school. I never drank it because I didn't like it....than I remember getting up my nerve to ask the teacher in the morning if I could get orange drink instead.

Old loved shirt

When I was a young girl my Bubbie Ethel gave me $5 for my birthday. My mom drove me to Gimbles to spend it. I remember buying a shirt with it and if you look back on my childhood pictures I wore it ALOT!!! And I mean ALOT!! I will post some old pictures of me wearing my shirt at a later time.
